William + Taylor | A Rustic Texas Wedding at Cattleman's Steakhouse | Fabens Wedding Photographer
When it comes to photographing weddings, something that always keeps me mindful of the whole story of the day is to picture them as a movie. Because let's face it, the couple's portraits are SO dreamy because of the intimacy but EVERY part of the day is the day that you will never forget and in turn, something I will never forget that you've chosen me to document the most special day of your live's. Your story - however mushy gushy or best friend type of love it may be... is a romantic comedy to me, all parts of your story lead up to the day where you promise the rest of your lives to the one person on this Earth that matches you in every way. It is an incredible thought. You're probably thinking, "Jess, what do movies have to do with this?" - but do you ever wonder where certain movies are made? Behind the scenes always captures my attention, similar to the backstory for a couple. I want all of the details that brought about something so ethereal and magical. Taylor shared the information that several movies had been filmed at their venue - Cattleman's Steakhouse. It had been her dream venue for some time and came full circle when she got to marry the man of her dreams there!
The day began in a portion of the venue for bridal prep. I met Taylor's sister who also worked as the planner to make her big day the best it could be (talk about a great sister!!) As I walked into the bridal prep area, Taylor met me with a big hug as I congratulated her on it being her big day! She was calm and already looking like the most gorgeous bride as her girls prepped by her side. With the dresses in hand, a few of her bridesmaids helped me hang her dress so I could photograph it and they all gasped as we carefully removed it from it's protective bag. There were loud exclamations of "isn't it just beautiful?" "she looks so amazing in it!" "it's so her!" Beaming as they looked at the dress carefully + proudly hung in the middle of all of her gal pal's dresses for the day too.
Adorned with the cutest bride + bridesmaids shirts, I stole the gals out to a beautiful garden entry to photograph them in their getting ready attire before shuffling back into the bridal prep room so that Will + his fellas could make their way into the groom's space safely without seeing his breathtaking bride!
I made my way into the groom's prep area where they all were huddled together filling the room with loud laughs + smiles. I was met with a loud roar of greetings, I snuck a few shots of the fellas hanging out + spending time together before it seemed the time flew by & it was almost time to be married!!
Happy tears + hugs from the groom's parents as he made his way to the front by the arbor to wait for his best guys to line up behind him. Then the bridesmaids lined up on the opposite side anxiously waiting for their best friend to make her way down the aisle. As soon as Will saw Taylor, his eyes immediately became misty + beamed with pride. ALL THE FEELS! Before we knew it, they kissed & we're announced as the newly Mr + Mrs Crawford & bubbles were blown to celebrate!!
Leading into the evening as we finished up portraits of them alone at sunset with the most gorgeous view, they danced until they could dance anymore & then everyone was pulled outside to wish the newlyweds farewell with glow sticks dancing in a line of every loved one. Talk about MAGIC!
