A Mountain-view Elopement | El Paso Wedding Photographer
Living in the desert, you don't see many rainy days outside of monsoon season. But you know what they say about rain & good luck, right?
Tyler + Lindsey decided to elope with a few of their closest friends + family beneath the breathtaking Franklin Mountains - the Franklin Mountains are the southernmost or tail-end of the Rocky Mountains!
The morning of, clouds were looming in the sky & the forecast was showing steady rain. Their ceremony time began quickly approaching, with every finger + toe crossed, the rain moved out just in time for Tyler to see his beautiful bride for the first time.
We met in the parking lot so we could walk out into the field where their engagement photographs were taken. The fellas lined up along with the pastor. Tyler turned to face the mountains with anticipation & excitement as Lindsey walked the path to the ceremony lead by her two closest friends in front. He circled to see her & his smile put all of the surroundings to shame, suddenly all eyes were on them both as they joined hands. The ceremony in true elopement fashion was quick paced, but the sentiment, the emotion, the words they spoke to one another, & the smiles they shared were what made their day so lasting + beautiful. The cars on the highway making their way up Transmountain had no idea that two hearts + souls were joining together. That two wonderful people were becoming husband + wife. All that were in attendance cheered as Tyler + Lindsey kissed & just like that they were Mr + Mrs. Volz!
While there is a special place in my heart for all of the weddings I have ever photographed & all of the couples that entrusted their most precious memories to me, elopements hold an extra peculiar place in my heart because of the intimacy of them. There is something so extraordinary intimacy to two people saying "I do" with the people that are closest to them!
Here are a collection of some of my favorites from their day!
The sun made an appearance as we began photographing their portraits & before they headed off to the intimate barbecue that they hosted to celebrate so I don't think that their day could've been more blessed!
Sparrow & Gold Photography is run by Jessica Rivera & focuses largely on the in-between moments + capturing beautiful, authentic memories. She is a sucker for the unique love stories + traveling to the ends of the earth to document them while living in the southwest corner of Texas in El Paso.
