Jimmy + Kelli | A Romantic Country Engagement | St Louis Engagement Photographer
I love, love. Engagement sessions have a special place in my heart because it's ALLLLL about love - it's just the couple & myself & the emotion is so raw & beautiful. The way that they smile between shots, the way they interact & laugh; makes me smile!
Jimmy + Kelli & I headed out to the backroads of Warrenton in hopes of finding the sunflower field that they know the owners of the property for - but upon arriving were incredibly sad that the season was over for them & they had disappeared entirely. We decided that the creek just a little further down the road would be beautiful though & my, oh my, was it PERFECT! The sunshine was pouring through the trees & landed softly on them as they cuddled in the creek bed!
Then I told them - "okay, now dance - it doesn't matter if you just rock back & forth together, ballroom dance; just dance together!" Jimmy looked at me & said:
"I know how to two-step, is that okay?"
It was definitely okay! These two two-stepped & Jimmy twirled Kelli around while singing to her as we had no music. The sun poured through the trees & was one of the most romantic scenes I have ever seen!
Since the sunflower field had gone past season, Jimmy decided to incorporate the colors for their wedding in another way - he picked a nearby Lazy Susan (they are fairly similar to sunflowers) & tucked it into his shirt pocket!
We then made the drive to Kelli's family's farm in Montgomery City! We had been hoping for sunset images but the sun had sunk past a large cloud by the time we arrived - I would go as far as to say that it worked in our favor though!
Wishing these two a blissful rest of their engagement & so honored to be photographing the day that they say "I do!" in a little less than three weeks!
