John + Elaine | A Downtown El Paso Engagement
If you’ve ever been to downtown El Paso then you must know about San Jacinto Plaza. To be honest, the first time I ever went there, we didn’t stay for long. But after photographing a proposal there right in front of the alligator sculpture, I became hooked. It is smack dab in the middle of downtown and holds an incredibly cool history of why there is an alligator sculpture there - if you are ever wondering about it, look it up! I caught myself reading for hours about the history and culture of this beautiful city because being an “out of towner” technically, I think it’s so neat to know more about where you’re living. Especially being a transplant from the Midwest!
But okay, the real reason you’re here on this blog post - John + Elaine. I have so many words for these two but let’s start with how warm + inviting they are. I got to learn so much about them as soon as we met because they instantly started chatting it up with me about their pup (yeah, she got lots of pets!), their wedding, the fact that they were going to the Plaza theater the following evening to see John’s favorite movie be performed - ahem the Sound of Music, and so much more. We strolled around downtown finding the most beautiful light. Then for sunset we made a quick trip to Memorial Park (basically the place with the most grass + trees + the best view of the Franklin Mountains in El Paso) where as the sun was completely set, we snagged a few silhouette shots with the cutest moon you ever did see.
Even better than myself being able to tell you, here are some of my favorites with these two! 💓
