Engagement Locations For El Paso
You just got engaged! WHAT?
Once you pick the date, your dream venue, + your vendors to bring your vision to life. You’re beginning to think about engagement photos. What to wear + where to have them taken.
I’ve compiled a list of engagement session locations here in El Paso and popular areas that are local. Whether breath-taking views are your priority or something a bit more near and dear to your love story (this could be anything from your first date space to your favorite coffee shop). This list includes a little bit of public and private places, choosing a business or privately owned space requires permission in order to photograph there, this is something you can consult with your photographer on to make sure you’re well equipped. It’s important to keep in mind the time of year you schedule your session due to locations having a prime season for their beauty. Also keep in mind that you can be inspired by your location choice/choices for picking your outfit. Using similar tones or bold tones that stand out can give that extra genasaqua to your portraits while making you look the most flattering! Photographers will help consult outfit choices with you if you feel stuck!
So without further introduction, here’s engagement locations in El Paso, Texas and popular surrounding areas that might catch your eye when it comes to planning what comes after you’ve got the ring!
Downtown El Paso
This might seem obvious but with downtown boasting history and texture it is so versatile.
El Paso High School
The oldest operating high school in El Paso also serves as a gorgeous spot for photos. With beautiful marble stairs and a large columned entrance, this space is an architectural dream.
The Franklin Mountains
These large lovelies are a huge part of El Paso but somehow can be forgotten about. With the rugged texture and layers of mountain, these provide a vast view for sessions. Since they are so large, there are many sections that you can access but i’ll be showing you a few different parts so you can compare the difference if your heart is set on these giants but need a specific space.
Along Woodrow Bean is a few sections where you are able to explore the mountains, these portraits are from there.
At the west side of Transmountain gives us Tom Mays State Park.
Then on the Northeast side is Mckelligon Canyon, a frequent spot for hiking, running, and biking but also gorgeous for pictures.
Memorial Park
Located in the central portion of El Paso is a community park that boasts beautiful green grass in the warmer months with large trees and mountain views in the upper part of the park.
Hueco Tanks State Park
Just outside of El Paso features a historic state park with a low mountain range is considered one of the most beautiful bouldering spots in the world but also offers stunning views.
Open Desert
This is a little less specific as this is a space scouted specifically by myself and is not as popular as other locations in El Paso but it holds beautiful golden grass with golden hour views. It is also a spot where a well-known country music artist shot a music video so I couldn’t leave it out!
White Sands National Park
One of the most popular spaces for engagement sessions is White Sands. With it’s large gypsum dunes that are reshaped by the consistent wind, this space provides a jaw dropping background for photos.
Guadalupe Mountains
The highest point of Texas is a stunning spot for engagement photos.
The Rio
Another less specific spot but is worth mentioning for you couple’s looking for a spot with fall colors. The trees around the rio bring bright yellow to the desert until late November.
Pecan Tree Farms
Another neat aspect near and around El Paso is there are many pecan tree farms. When the trees bloom they bring lots of green and color to the desert but also make for a gorgeous spot, along highway 28 and around Mesilla and Las Cruces.
There you have it - there are more locations in or around El Paso but these are some popular ones. As aforementioned, you can also pick locations that are true to you. Something like a coffee shop or cute diner that helps bring a little extra personality into your engagement portraits!
